Fiction Excerpts:
Since rom-coms are far and few between for me, I figure I’d share the only one I’ve published so far. I’ve grown so much as a writer since this book, so this is a nice look-back of how far I’ve come. At about 300 words a post, this should take a while. Below are some affiliates links to the book in case you decide you like and don’t want to wait each week for an update.
It’s Like The Full Moon part 16
Chapter 4: The Tourist
Rebecca and Lisa had arrived very late the next evening to a luxury hotel. They immediately hailed a porter to carry their luggage while they checked in and headed up to their suite. They were so tired that they didn’t even bother to tour their rooms for wonders and features of convenience and aesthetics. They simply stepped in and declared their space. Lisa took the room on the right and Rebecca took the one on the left.
Lisa stepped into her room and threw her overnight bag onto the floor. Dropping to her knees, she began to toss out the contents of the bag with one hand as she undressed herself with the other. After skimming down to nothing but her panties and tossing her bra across the room, Lisa finally found the treasure she was so desperately searching for.
It was a small plastic case with a simple snap-lock. Opening it she pulled out a sparkling sleep mask labeled “Little Angel” in pink letters and a pair of purple earplugs. After she pressed the plugs into her ears, Lisa crawled across the floor and up the end of the bed until she reached the pillowcase. She threw back the covers, tossed the extra decorative pillows onto the floor, cuddled up under the cool soft sheets, and then pulled down her sleep mask before losing consciousness.
Rebecca entered her room and dragged herself over to the bed. Taking a deep breath, she stared momentarily at the mound of decorative pillows neatly situated on top of the bedspread. She quickly removed the pillows and stacked them neatly on the floor, under the windowsill.
Personal Updates:
Last week was a rough week, medicinally speaking. I had a bad episode that spilled into the start of this week, so I’m just now getting around to visiting the blogs I meant to visit last week. I’m looking forward to see what people have been sharing… And in case anyone needs to know, too much iron can make your hair fall out.
Thank you for making it this far down the virtual page. Kudos to you! I’d love to know what you thought of this post in the comments below. Stay safe and be blessed.
